I just realized I never posted anything photos from our trip to Hawaii. We did a lot of hiking, and saw a lot of mountain and cliff-top views. I felt the intense contrast is what made Oahu so beautiful and intriguing to me. Dark, jagged volcanic rock with lush, greenery, fresh white sand against a rough old city and looming clouds. It felt like another world.
My favorite spot was the jungle around Manoa Falls. They were drizzly and felt like heaven. I wanted to build a giant treehouse and stay forever. Which sort of surprised me after hours of hiking through deep mud. It took a lot of self control not to start clipping all the maidenhair fern, tiny blossoms and wonderfully strange plants growing everywhere.
Sorry for the quality of the photos, they were all taken on our phones because we didn't even bother bringing a nice camera.
