Featured on Utah Bride Blog: Organic Deco Inspiration

This morning, a recent styled shoot I created with K. Ell Photography is featured on Utah Bride Blog. We wanted to do something a little different for a winter shoot and once I found our location, the Historic 1927 Ben Lomond Hotel, I knew we had our creative direction. We were inspired by the glamour and sentimentality of the Art Deco architecture, but rather than going in the harsh, geometric direction that can often take you, I went for a softer approach. So the style, like the building, has aged over time, become lighter, more organic and overgrown. With tons of candlelight and a palette of emerald, mixed metallics and mauve, it felt like we had truly transported to another era.
